A catch-all feature that is activated for a specific email mailbox will permit you to receive email messages that are sent to email addresses that do not actually exist. Otherwise stated, if you remove an email address and someone still sends a message to it, or to any misspelled address under the very same domain name, you’ll receive the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this feature means that you will no longer miss an email for any reason whatsoever, which could be crucial in case you are running some business, for instance. Since you may start receiving unsolicited bulk emails, you can combine the catch-all functionality with email filters in order to get only legitimate email messages in your inbox. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
If you’ve got a Linux shared package with us and you would like to enable the catch-all functionality for a specific email mailbox that you have in your hosting account, it will take literally just a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have created under any domain registered in your account. You can choose one single email address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature straight away, so all messages sent to miswritten addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. If you have active email forwarding, our system will show a warning message and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature till you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply pick some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The custom-built Hepsia hosting Control Panel that comes with each and every semi-dedicated server package that we offer will allow you to set up a catch-all email mailbox easily even if you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right side of each mailbox that you have set up using your domain names in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. Since you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will notify you if you’ve already configured a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding activated. If you reach the decision that you do not want the feature anymore, you can remove it by clicking again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
